My brain froze .... and I got cheated out of my ice cream.......
I once had a truck that had a device that would crank up the engine if the interior temperature fell outside the comfort zone just long enough to bring it in range.....
Too cold? It would warm it up.....
Too warm? It would cool it down.....
WTF is that called? I would like to ask that one be installed.....
Help! What is the add on that fires the engine and heats/cools the cab?

It was and still is called optimized idle. However bad it used to be, it has changed as the industry has demanded.
The latest versions supplied with trucks that have bunk heaters only start the truck as the battery levels drop. In hot weather, it works as originally designed.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
