I just bought a 2003 century 12.7 l and would like to know what would you guys do maintenance wise before heading out on the road.???? Should I change oil in differentials?
truck has 800k miles
this is what I did so far:
- Ran dyno
-Oil Samples
-Mechanical inspection
-Fresh dot
-Oil change
-Balanced tires
What else would you add to the list?
PLEASE NO ADVICE on running the business just on what other TUNE UP would you do to the truck

Allow me to add to the list:
Big bottle of advil
Peptobismol
Save the old fan belts, if you change them
Hose clamps and some hose in various diameters
Check all hoses for chafing against other objects. Including brake air lines at brake chambers.They can rub against each other ( CA was kind enough to point this out on last dot inspection).
Extra bulbs
Zip ties
DUCT TAPE
Extra headlights
Air hose that can connect to gladhand on tractor to air up tires
Air pressure guage
GPS
one big 'ol can of fresh whoopass ( check expiration date ).
Disguises ( in case you must drive a Freightliner in your town of residence. Somebody could recognize you).
Replace shocks if it rides bad/ check suspension ride height.
Don't trust your dot inspection. He probably half a s s inspected it. Inspect it yourself or with friend.
Buy lunch for friend for climbing under you grimy 10 year old used truck.
Buy a for sale sign for truck ( plan B ).
Drive slow and save on fuel. You might need the $.
air line unions/connectors.extra air line. ( this woulda prevented my $ 350 road service call. I ran over sheet of plastic).
Credit card or 2"credit cards
Debit card
Cell Phone
Friends that will bring you parts or come and jump start your truck.
Calculator.
Snacks ( for when you're waiting for road service cause u didn't listen to me ).
Antifreeze ( for your truck. Or can be used to commit suicide when u see road service bill).
Anti gel fuel treatment .so u don't end up on side of road freezing waiting for wrecker.and u are #14 in line).
Hat. (The sun can give u skin cancer )

Good attitude
Cash in banks with nation wide branches.
Banker at home who knows the sound of your voice and will therefore transfer funds if needed

Maintenance account at your company if u lease to a reputable company. (Another source of funds on the road ).
