I am trying to help my husband fill out these applications. He was a self-employed painter for years but also worked regular jobs from time to time. I have tried to accurately report his history, but he has been told there are discrepancies. Does anyone know what information these companies are getting to compare what I am providing?

    Chinatown Thanks this.

If possible -- contact the HR depts at former employers....& ask for dates of employment & exit.

If you are off by one digit somewhere -- it can of course create problems.

Don't feel bad -- my most recent previous employer somehow couldn't/wouldn't vouch for me -- even though I had the W-2 forms to back it all up.

My point: even with accurate info -- stuff happens.

If your husband is a new cdl driver, companies usually only look back 3 years on employment history.

Does he have a cdl now?
