They recognize it, they just don't give you as much weight at PA does on it.

Oh okay, I didn't personally get the fines, I run up 7 and across 82 to get to warren instead of rollin across that scale, I just know in PA were allowed 73,280 gross and ohio cuts us WAY back from that.

I think even less than that Les, they got our one drivers 5200lbs over weight and he only had a 3/4 load on his truck. That could've been over on an axle also. Anytime we haul into ohio we now can only take 1/2 loads just to cover our ### so we don't get any over weight fines.

OH limits straight trucks to 40', 650 lbs per inch of tire width on steers, 20,000 single axle or 34,000 on tandems.

The trick is your axle position to get max weight. If balanced right, you can gross 45,700 and steers will be 11700 and tandems 34,000. Of course if it ain't balanced right, one of your axles will have to be lowered by reducing gross.

Well that stupid, in PA we can gross 73,280 and in ohio 45,700........tell me that's not a load of crap.

I'm in Ohio at least once a week, we haul alot of water to warren commerce park right by jaro transportation to a treatment plant, and we just got a couple of runs last week to some place in Columbus but I was running up north and didn't get a chance to get out there.

I used to run a straight truck dump back in the mid/early 90's. I know back then the length of the vehicle also determined the legal gross weight even if it was a tandem. If it was a triaxle it added more.

I got a link I'm gonna post that is full of legal BS and really hard to understand but if you can get thru it and understand most of it, you will see you can gross more than what your thinking, but not as much as what PA will give you....
