Hi Guys,
We are looking to buy a new truck to haul frozen loads from CA to NJ. We run teams and we usually haul around 35K load. Since we run teams and we can run around 300K miles a year. So fuel economy is our first concern. Anyone can point us some direction? We are looking at volvo 780 with cummins engine 13 speed right now. Any input will be great appreciated.

I think you will get better mileage out of the Volvo D13 than the cummins. I run the MP8 which is the Mack version of the D13 and it has worked great for me. I also know someone who runs both MP8s and new Cummins and he gets better mileage out of the MP8.
I would look at a detroit also before the cummins engine (only available in a freightliner or western star) as I think they are a better engine than the cummins.
I rank it D13 > DD15 > ISX15 but that is me.
Watch out if you look at the T680 (I have no experience with them) but I have read several posts on here about people with a lot of issues with them especially on the DEF system. -
I would agree. Set the cruise on 60-61 mph and you'll be very happy.
