My husband, the trucker is frustrated with the service at truck stops all accross America. I told him i would right an article for him to be distributed to all the trucker magazines. Your imput would be very helpful. Over the last three weeks out he has had uncooked eggs, baccon so full of grease it took 3 napkins to drain off, cold oatmeal, subway no longer offering the only sandwhiches he likes, poor service, no parking, drivers backing up fuel iles while waiting for "fast food" etc etc etc. Looking foward to a good shower and a good meal to find out they closed the restaurant and showers were all backed up...anybody out there that knows what we mean, give me you ideas, facts...Thanks!

Take the time to look it over.

Hey snow bunny glad to meet you.
I think he needs to consider taking more food with him. I fry bacon and send it with hubby he warms it up in the microwave or his SNAPPY and eats bacon sandwiches. The key is to learn the better places and stick with them.
I been doing this since the 80's there is no fix. If you compain about your food your afraid to eat it when it comes back. We have had people rub our food in the floor when we were not looking. truckers are kind of stuck here.
The best thing i've learned over my 18 years is to be as self reliant as you can. Keep water and soap in your truck for those hard times when you can't get a shower. Wet ones are a must. Try to take as much of your own food that you can. Staying out of the truck stops is the best thing you can do. they are there to steal your money and eat up your free time.
This is my own opinon of course. In the summer you can keep your water in the side box and it will heat up, i kept his kind of large tub in the truck for cleaning up and washing my hair. I've even washed my hair while hubby drove down the road. LOl!!
Oh well lets see what others say.

I recomemend what I do....I very very rarley use the chain truckstops...If I do have to use a truckstop for anything there are still some mom and pop TS out there and those are the ones I use ...if you run a regular route you will become more familiar with where they are...

Yes eating out of the truck is always the best option! Healthiest too! His invertor actually caught on fire a month ago, so we are forced for the first time to actually rely on service, and my opion is that if a driver has to be away from home for long periods of time, I mean not even home every other weekend, good service shouldn't be so hard to come by...
Thanks for your help and opinions!
