Hi everyone. I am currently training to get my licence. Every thing is going well except for one monkey on my back. I can start from a stop no problem until I am at a busy city intersection. As soon as I am under pressure I stall from the stop. It is getting better and I know it will probably continue to improve but I was hoping someone out there went through the same issue when they were learning and can offer some words of wisdom. Any suggestions would be a big help. Thanx

Are you not in the proper gear when you're trying to start back up? I stalled while stopping once (was still to high a gear).

Just take your time, and don't get in a hurry or feel rushed. Trucks aren't like cars, it takes a little bit to get them to go, the city traffic might not realize that, but don't let them make you feel rushed. Just relax and take your time, you will do fine....practice makes perfect.

Monkey on your back???? This is like one of those caveman commercials where the caveman gets offended!:mlaugh: The other posters may have nailed it or you might be letting out on the clutch to fast and not pressing the go pedal soon enough.

I think he's dumping the clutch. You don't have to hit the go pedal until you've fully engaged the clutch.
