I'm sure you'll get a lot of feedback on the Roehl school. I'll offer this:

I went to a "company" training program as a newbie in 1993. They basically put me through normal driver orientation - 3 day thing, then put me in a truck with a trainer.

We went out to a parking lot and bobtailed around for a few minutes and the trainer showed me how to change gears, read gauges and work airbrakes. Then we hooked a load and left for New Jersey(I'm in WI). To make a long story short, it was a terrible way to learn to drive. PLEASE do yourself a huge favor and choose Roehl or Schneider, Swift, etc. that has a proper training school with classroom training, Range, Road and skid pad if you can.

Could someone tell me just what do they look for in a criminal background check?? I mean what would disqualify you from getting a job. Like is there a certain number of DUI's in a life time if so how many? What about mister meaners how many? What is a mister meaner any way? Things of this nature if anybody could help it would be grateful thanks

Mideameanor is a minor crime. For instance as a kid you were drinking under age, or got pulled out of a stolen car that you were just a pass in not the thief. (that's a FELONY).
You might have been arrested for a felony and because you hadn't been in a lot of trouble it was reduced to a misdeameanor.
A lot of young people go through life thinking they have a felony record and they don't because they were to $%^## (uninteligent) to go to the cops and ask. It's your record you can see it.
Also if you were a juvenile you can usually get stuff "sealed".
DUI's are big deal because of insurance companies, and we can understand that. But if you've been running sober and legal for the past several years and it seems that those days are behind you it never hurts to ask.
Also the best way to prove yourself is to be doing it. If you go to work for a lot of cities or counties, states etc. They are self insured and can hire you if they want then you get a good couple of years under your belt and your good to go.

Anytime someone questions what will hold you back with a background check usually that is a good indication that you will have problems getting your foot in the door.:biggrin_2556:

if you have a DUI in the recent past then you might want to look elswhere for money making opportunities. a misdemeanor is what you plea down to from a felony. it's the non serious blue collar b.s. disqualifications would be felonies, DUI, a bad DAC and most recently a job jumper.
