Hi Everyone, I just got my CDL A on January 30, 2009. I've absolutely applyed EVERYWHERE. I've received 2 offers, JB Hunt and CR England:biggrin_25510:.. I've spoken to many, many "local companies" through out Massachusetts and Rhode Island, talked to friends of friends who are local owners of small companies. But no one will hire someone without a year experience because of insurance costs. I need to get that #### year under my belt before any doors will open up:biggrin_2552:. I'm a glorified machine operator ( aka machinist who cannot program cnc ), and NO ONE is hiring!!! So, my question is, what poison should I take? JB or CR? I will absolutely not take a least/operator deal if they offer. My employment history was great untill about 3 years ago untill my father was diagonoist with terminal cancer and I had the help him and supported myself by selling most of my possessions. Her since passed on and now I can move on.
    Thanks
    Kris

Word on the street is that CRE is making all new company drivers team up... On driver going so far to say he recieved the message on his QC.

Another person stated that he was told the pay being .12 per mile which seems absurdly low... even suggestions that they are factoring out per diem is still absurd.

As a comparison with under a year experiance and Im not with CRE but I know my statement each week gives me cents/mile after per diem is factored out.... it fluctuates up and down based on my fuel milage bonus but its usually in the .27 range... combined with perdiem its .34 + MPG bonus and Im solo. (my base rate is .34 and trust me I do the math every week and go over my statements with a fine tooth comb plugging the numbers into a spreadsheet)

So somebody has their wires crossed or I would avoid them like the plauge.

Starting teams (company) at my company I think, split .40 and up based on experiance with MPG bonus and another Bonus of .10 for miles over a certain amount per week. So I would imagine somebody is getting bad info.

Im fascinated with this and hope somebody clears it up.
