Henderson CDL Training Program Update

Just to keep anyone who is interested up to date (I'm looking at you @Chinatown), Henderson has made a few changes to the food and housing portion of their CDL program, Henderson Driving Academy. Previously they offered 3 meals a day weekdays, and breakfast (& maybe lunch) on weekends. Housing was a single occupancy hotel room. If you needed to purchase personal items or food, and needed some money, they would loan you $100.00 a week, to be paid back after you became a solo driver.

The program has changed a bit, I think in a positive way.
Included meals are now breakfast (standard motel breakfast) and lunch during the week (cookouts on Wednesdays). Dinner is no longer supplied, and there is no lunch service on weekends and holidays (but I'm not sure there ever was).
In place of dinner service, Henderson is GIVING the student $100.00 per week. This is not a loan.
Housing is now a single occupancy room with a kitchenette that includes a full size refrigerator and a two burner cooktop stove (no oven).

So, basically, instead of feeding the student dinner, they're giving the the student $100.00 a week and a kitchen to make their own.

So, there ya go. I know you were all wondering.

 

Considering that I can be a little weird with my food choices, I figured I was going to have to buy at least some of my own food. I can easily make my own healthy meals for 10 bucks a day. I'm happy with that.

I can probably save enough to buy laundry detergent and a nice massage.

 

They run 48 states, but much heavier on east coast. They told me they can get me thru Montana to visit my daughter. We'll see how that works out.
