I have owned my t800 with walking beams under it for about 2 months now and i grease the #### outa it weekly. This susp. is new to me as my frieghtliner has air/spring under it. The only fittings i found are on the pins on the front of the springs. Dont make any sense the beams themselves dont take grease? Am i missing something? Wonder if i can install fittings?hmmm

arnt the walking beam pins mounted in a rubber bushing?
it would be kinda counter productive to install grease nipples -
The walking beam suspensions I have been around were fairly old but had grease fittings in the center where the beams pivot.

We also have a truck with a hendrickson walking beam suspension. There is only one grease point per side, at the front where the pin goes through the spring. There are bushings in the centre where the beams pivot, they do ware and the do need replacing and they can be a PIA to get out.

There should be grease fiitings for the center bushings on the inside of the walkings beams. I put extension hoses and run them to the outside so you don't have crawl under truck to grease them. Done this with the spring pins too.

There have been several revisions to the walking beam suspension over the years. Most only have grease fittings at the main spring pin for the leaf springs. The rest of the suspension is all regular rubber bushings.
-
I could be mistaken, but i think there are two types of beam bushings. Bronze and rubber. The bronze style bushings will have a grease fitting for the center pivot, but the rubber style do not. Older trucks will generally have the bronze type, the newer ones usually have rubber.
Hope this helps.logtrucker25 Thanks this.
