I have a question.... How is TA w/o the lease and WITH a company truck? Dont you get fuel cards or something? Why did you, bcso809, lease right off the bat? I start my school training Monday Mar 13th,,, I am (was) considering TA. I would NEVER lease a truck (this early in the game), I wouldnt know where to start with that process. Am I incorrect in assuming that .30 cpm X 1000 miles = $300 as a company driver (just as a simple math example)? Please advise.

Read thru all the posts and most of your questions will be answered. There's sevaral different threads going on about it. I've been gone 6 months now but doubt its changed much. You'll be VERY, HIGHLY, MICROMANAGED there. Thats there privelege tho and hey, gotta start somewhere. Was there almost 3 years, was ok, don't miss it the least little bit.

Usually, a tlr gets a basic check, when you come thru the Olathe gate. Tires, brakes, and leaks. Gets a good check for its annual. Otherwise, there's a lot of tlr's and a lot of them will only go thru Olathe once. All problems will get fixed...... if they are reported. Problem with that tho, is that pretripping, I mean REALLY pretripping a tlr is not taught and most of the people who drive there, haven't a clue about them, and if they do, there not writing them up so they will have to deal with it. Biggest reason I left TA, just got tired of getting tlrs fixed.

my third day out on the road for TA as a student. We left Olathe with an O/O who says the truck ok except we have no low beams or power steering. I didn"t wanna make waves so here we go. Pulling the grades going into flagstaff the DPF goes off and we are choking down to 15 mph TRAINER throws a fit like I did something. We do a manuel reset all is ok for 10 minutes till the fuel filters are plugged. OH BTW he says I was do for a PM 2 weeks ago. We pull into a truckstop i have the fuel filters in my hand he says i dont wanna spend the money right now. I wonder why we spent the night on the side of the road to replace to $15.00 filters instead gave road asst 500. MORE LATER

Get a new trainer now!!!! If he cant take care of his truck, doubt he can teach either and you'll just be wasting your time if you stick with him.
