Coming in to orientation at the end of the month. I have job offers from Stevens and usxpress also. Live in Ga. Wife is going with me OTR but not driving. Between Transam and USXpress who would you guys choose? Not trying to hijack your thread just curious. How many miles a week did you get while in training?

well stevens transport has a better deal in my mind everyone is a company driver first 3 months after that you can go lease. Stevens haas kw700's like trans am truly a nice truck especially for 2 ppl. As far as miles I drove 125 hours in 19 days with waiting stops etc
-
oh and panhandle as I waited all weekend for a truck after the rest of the class left on Saturday I succumbed A bright shiny army green T700 with only 55000 miles on it was sitting there monday morning with my name all over it. A 6 month lease and she was mine first run tyson to wally world in nj then off to newark get drunk on a load of bud to colorado
-
whats the difference between a 6 month lease and a 3-4 year lease? -
well leases in general seem to have a lot of pitfalls but i wanted to try one for 6 months then review how it went b4 i did another you get a bonus for lease completion 6 months should be in the range of $2000 If i had signed a 5 year lease completion bonus be about 20000 but i am 58 i could be dead by then
or i could h8 this company after a year 6months was easiest entry into yje field for me

so captain pete how are you doing with T/A? you leased as a beginner right?
how was the training by the way? -
payments are a little more on short leases maybe 50 a week you can always walk away from a longer lease but you wont get ur money back, i don't know what to say about training a lot of information in class. on the road was good with one huy another guy was terrible. as i am out on my own now things from class are starting to make more sense. every shipper is different every reciever different just roll with it all i guess
