i unloaded in miami they deadheaded me to ocala where they sat me for the next day. it cost them 30.00 in tolls fuel, and my miles pay. then they sent me to st augistine to load. the way they are trying to pinch pennies that is a prime example of wasted money. so i thought that they have so much money to waste i would spend some more of their money and get my truck serviced which cost them 350.00 more. tomorrow if it dont rain i will get it washed.:biggrin_255:

You can get a truck wash every 21 days and a trailer wash whenever you need one...it's not pinching pennies, it's that there is no frieight coming from Miami and there never is unless your on a reefer or a tanker and they know that.

I got deadheaded to Jacksonville from Miami for a load...take the deadhead miles ....you get paid the same dude, if you don't like it there, quit! They aren't going to deadhead you at their expense unless it's getting you home. I can guarantee the shipper in St. Augustine paid deadhead miles, so Melton got paid to pay you....just be happy, some companies don't pay full deadhead miles.

I feel a "little bit" better when I'm running loaded....mostly because I know the company is making money to pay me with.

That being said...I'll run 3,000 miles a week empty if thats what they want, it pays me the same.

Not Melton in my case though...Maverick.

southside you obviously cant read, they cost themselves alot of wasted money by sending me up the turnpike rather than sending me straight up 95. why would i quit them if what i wrote p!$$ed you off to say that, and you obviously dont know they changed the trlr washes to every 21 days also, so get your facts straight next time you start your comments.

they changed the trailer washes, other than that. If you don't like working there, as I said before QUIT! Every mile you turn in that truck other than the miles getting you home (unless you are under a load) you GET PAID FOR! Why do you care about how much they pay in tolls? Do you not understand that there is a slight possibility that the mileage saved by going up the TP might be more cost efficient?

One of the last load I hauled there was going from Youngstown to Dallas Texas. They had me routed all down thru Nashville and Little Rock to Texarkana. I checked the Mileage and of course it was shorter to go 71, 70, 44, US69, US75 to I30. It also took me thru only one major Metro Area (St. Louis) and it also took me thru Oklahoma where I had to take care of some personal issues. Do you know what I did? I Qualcommed my Dispatcher and CHANGED MY ROUTING! If you have a better way , SUGGEST IT! You not being proactive enough to seek alternate routing that is better for you is not the fault of the Company. I have avoided tolls all the way from Illinois to Ohio by suggesting a different route!

The Dispatcher is sitting in a windowless room in Tulsa. The Dispatcher more than likely has never been on the road. The dispatcher, more than likely has never been that far from Northeastern Oklahoma....you are the one on the road, with the map and the experience of the road. It's not up to your diaptcher to tell you which way to go. I can honestly say, I followed the QC Routing probably 50% of the time and not once, ever accumulated out of route miles or a service failure. Use your head, it's not always the Company's fault that you were inconvenienced, 95% of the time it's on you, the driver of the truck because you are too lazy and unable to comprehend basic directional skills or communications skills with other people.....I am sure you are a dream to talk to on the CB as well!

    Keep on Trucking,

how do you say i'm whinning when i only made a statement. but when the toll money has to come out of your pocket untill the next week of pay, and your paychecks suck because most of the drivers in this co is not getting any miles that is hard to eat for a week, as far as lazy im not by far. i'v had one great paycheck in 5 mos. as for your one year of driving i have 15 yrs more exp backing up.

i hate to be rude but when southside trucker makes a statement i cant ignore that at all, im a pretty cool guy to be around and dont take that abuse very well, he must be one of meltons finest at one year of experience. he should have had his facts straight before blabbing out false info. i stand my ground, and wont tolerate it. do what you want, or think, but i'v made some other comments to other drivers that were good and the truth and got blasted with insults, did anyone warn them, probably not
