would be nice if things slowed down in our lil world....
and I'm no economist but...i can't remember a time....in my lifetime when the economy as a whole didn't level off or drop in a presidential election year.....all the uncertainty has always made wall st nervous....

I will never understand why people feel the need to panic over things that is out of our control.

I wouldn't call it panicking. To me, it says maybe I should hold off on that new shiny 389, and keep this old freightliner just a little longer. Put a new engine in it for 25,000 and run it a few more years. Keep putting cash in the bank and keep debt to a minimum.

Yes, the point is to not count on getting any significant raises and other things like ... Maybe that Christmas bonus won't come this year if things go south. Don't take out any loans unless you positively, absolutely have to. Don't incur any large purchases of things you don't just have to have. Don't expect your income to remain high as it may be today, into the foreseeable future. Maybe hold off for a year or two on having another baby.

Keep some cash hidden somewhere in case banking or ATM's are down for a week for whatever reason (ask the Greek's, they know) Keep your cars filled up.

Hopefully we're wrong, or maybe we miss it by a year, but it's not likely.
