That's really funny. when i get more time. Cite the sources. It's the opposite " the big one is coming" " get your cash now " blah blah blah. hahaha.

I mentioned the coming future a short while back, some thought I was off my rocker.

Most of the damage to the dollar is self-inflicted, by our own monetary policy. All the money printed in the last decade like it was monopoly money WILL bite us in the ###.Mudguppy Thanks this.

Don't see how preventing other countries from flooding us with junk is a bad thing. Let's get our own manufacturing base back and force the slave labor countries to create a real economy where the worker actually profits from the work. Let the slave trade agents move to China.
dog-c, Canned Spam and brsims Thank this. -
I guess it's a good thing I'm "hiding" with a mail route then.
The pay is,,, eh, but the hours are consistant enough to get a 2nd job. Now if I could only find somebody (not a trucking company) hiring in this backwards economy.
I've got money for food and bills, but I'm playing musical credit cards because I don't have anything left over to pay them off ("mr. Info, you have great credit, would you like a crapital1 card with a 0% introductory rate?" "Heck YEAH!" *pays off disastercard* repeat as needed)
But right now I ain't got any "fun" money. So if you've got a Chinese made toy, game or movie to sell me? Don't add a 2nd shift to your factory. It really sucks.
Also, ever notice a pol will tax anything but when the people mention tarifs (against countries that employ slave labor, poor environmental practices or a complete disregard of copyright law) and they panic and say "we don't want to start a trade war!"
Tough kids, it started 80 years ago and we've got to get our head out of the sand while we still have an economic base to work with. -
Freight drying up?
As busy as I've been the last two weeks?
Hell, we have more work then we can handle. -
HUMPH: reading the article further than the headline: the index for future business activity climbed seven points to 33.6.

In the short term, freight will be good. walmart, Target, and other major retailers are trying to buy and stock common goods now before their costs go up due to money manipulation. But when the stocking surge is over and the warehouses are full, the "good times" is largely over.

July tonnage nearly hits all-time high, base rates continue climb
Two reports from July, however, could have the industry looking up.
Truck tonnage in July rose to its second highest reading on record, according to the American Trucking Associations, who produces a monthly tonnage report based on surveys from for-hire carriers.
As you can see in the chart here, tonnage dipped following a huge January (the best month in ATA’s records) and has since prodded along until July’s big upswing:

Tonnage was up 3.7 percent from last July, ATA reported, and up 3.4 percent year-to-date compared to the same time period last year.
Meanwhile, truckload linehaul rates are now on a multi-month upward trend, outpacing both July 2014 by a few percentage points and July 2013 by 11 percentage points. Check them out here:

Though the two readings could be upticks in another wise flat — though strong and stable — year, they could point to the start of late-year surge in key trucking metrics.
