During the earnings call last week, Musk made it clear there will not be ANY new product lines started this year, which indicates no semi, no cyber truck, no roadster, no $25,000 entry level car. They are just knuckling down to get the updated model Y in production and get the plants in Texas and Berlin running. Still expecting over 50% year over year production growth.

"The T-680E, with an e-axle design, has a 150-mile (240 km) range and can produce about 536 hp/1,623 lb.-ft. torque. The motors are mounted on the drive axles and the batteries along the frame rails. The engine compartment is now occupied by electric accessories, pumps for the various coolants and lubricants required, and software.
The batteries add about 7,000 lb. of weight to the truck, so Adams acknowledged it’s a not a great fit for weight-sensitive truckers."

Elephant in the room. No one wants to touch this one. Tesla goes out of way to not discuss this.

Is the added battery weight 7k pounds over a similar speced diesel truck? That sounds like an all around worthless setup to me.

Indeed. That's why it's hard to find industry talking about this.I've found very limited columnists writing about it.Look at cheesy milage range of that electric tractor. That number will increase significantly with larger heavy battery packs to get more range. This is ridiculous and completely throws a wrench into 'emissions' argument when it's going to require 2 electrics to accomplish what 1 does already.
Range specs are ludicrous. We need at least reliable 600-700 range everyday, sometimes more, like Canada where drivers are allowed 13 hours driving time, everywhere. Remote areas truckers are allowed up to 16 hrs driving time per cycle.

Despite being as big as a sleeper truck the Tesla truck is a day cab and the back side is a battery.
