I joined because after spending hours looking around for information on trucking in the US and how to get my CDL license fast, I was lost in space not making any headway. Then I saw these blogs, so thanks.
I want to experience being a trucker for an action movie I want to make that involves truckers. Money is gone for independents like myself, so I am unemployed anyway, liked my summer trucking job in my 20s, should of stayed in it because office jobs kill your health and freedom.
I just studied for the written test and am looking for a tractor to practice in for the driving exam, then get a tractor to drive solo. I live near Ventura,CA by avocado, orange, citrus, and strawberry fields, so maybe I can get a solo job OTR. Any ideas or assistance is greatly appreciated.

Wow, I guess I need to take a whole day figuring out this site. It seems like a good site but every time I try to considerately post, I get chastised. Oh well, I read that I have to make 50 posts or something to go into certain groups or blogs. I hate to even waste words on this reply, but I don't want to make 50 stupid useless posts just to get access to talk on the site. This is frustrating and I am starting to feel like this site is only for 10 or 20 privledged people. Hey, I'm not a bad guy, but I feel judged and whipped before I can even join in.

You've only posted twice . How were you chastised . Try clicking new posts . It will show the most recent 100 posts . There is nothing to stop you from replying to any of them . Getting a CDL is one thing , getting a job is something else . Honestly , I don't know who would hire you . You are competing with tens of thousands unemployed experienced drivers and thousands of trucking school graduates with weeks of training . If you bought your own truck I doubt you could get insurance .

Oh don't feel that way. Heck I got in trouble several times and I am still around and was even a moderator at one time :yes2557:
If they just let everyone come on in and do everything there is no room to fill out who are here to cause trouble etc. Some come on here to just post adds/recruit etc. They only judge you by what you say which is the internet world replacing human eye contact.

Your fine relax reply to messages that you find interest in. YOu should be interested in regulations as this will be very important you understand so read up on how to log etc and the other regulations.

    Good luck:biggrin_25525:

Hey and Howdy RandyW! Welcome to the forum. Let's see?? Humm RickG makes a valid point about you getting a job driving... I hope you take Logs advice and do some reading, then post or reply to things you read. Now as from your second post I deduce you are some Hollywood type, who is a whiner. This attitude will not get you very far in the world of trucking. At least not the real world. Oh youmay fit in but, Never mind... I wish you well. I always like a realistic movie about truckin'. To date I have seen only one or two... And Ice Road Truckers is not about real people... IMHO

    Welcome, randyw.
Cybergal's post wasn't to chastise, it's an automated response that welcomes newcomers and gives some direction as well as points out where to read up on the forum rules. The 50 posts rule pertains to PMs and is used to weed out spammers. You can always PM a mod, even without the 50 posts.

A lot of great info can be found here, so feel free to look around and ask questions.

    Baack and Cybergal Thank this.

When I joined, I got more than a few emails saying the same darn thing from different moderators before I even got a chance to post, telling me I can't do this, I can't do that, I can't ad infinitum....., and I would think that you of anyone would not like being pushed around before I even got started, having to read a huge document like I was supposed to be a Philadelphia Lawyer.
Well maybe some people grew up in an America like, but I am one of the good guys and don't like being treated like a bad guy right out of the box. I I also like my FREEDOM and don't bother anyone else. If you try to threaten me or other INNOCENT people, you will meet me headon. I'm the guy that picks up half dead people on the road and saves their ### while other guys just keep drivin by.
So I have a right to say I don't like the bossy posts I got, it is judgemental and could be written a lot better. If someone posts crap and does wrong, kick him out, simple. Kick me out if you want.
I am tryin to take on the Hollywood whimps and do some good. Yeah, I know the job situation is bad. That's what happens when you OVERPOPULATE, screw your fellow brother American over by hiring cheap labor for so many years. I didn't have 8 kids when the country can't take anymore. I never had one kid, so you can't blame me for increasing poverty, pollution, depleting more oil and resources than I use alone, or bringing kids to a ZERO job market. But once kids are born, you help them, that's my morals. But I would make a law that required sterilization of women/men having more than 2-3 kids, and make it illegal to have invitro insemination without a presidential order for some Einstein. Hey, if you think twice you're a genius. No body does.
I hauled sailboats from Costa Mesa CA to Rochester in the early 80s at 20-yrs old with only a few souls on the road. That was Nice. Oh well, I'm out, you can kick me off this site as a "whiner" who refuses to smell the little flowers and kiss everybody's ###. Everything will crash soon anyway.

I apologize to everyone for using a bad word, I try not to cuss or use the Lord's name in vain. Didn't realize it was a bad word, but it is. I apologize.

I tried to unsubscribe but I don't have time right now, the site is time-consuming to get around and find something when you first begin. I don't have much time right now, so any moderator can delete me, thanks.

With that attitude you're wasting your time and everybody else's being here anyway . You wouldn't last a week driving a truck if just trying to find information is too much work for you .
