Yeah the world is a lot more complicated than you think it is. Customers don't just give us a fixed number. At least mine don't. Trucking companies don't pay me, the customers do. I don't work with customers who are trying to get stuff done at a price so cheap the truck is paying me.

Yes if you go and do the brokers job for him (the sales part, like you have) you'll get better money. There is some fantastic freight in the world.

    Fairly Obvious-

my Gripe is more on the carriers then brokers-Most of us already know how you guys get down..... For years I've Preached to a lotta small guys with a few trucks to put forth some sales effort
Any Monkey can go to a loadboard and call on posted substandard freight. Then they Wonder why they still live in a trailer and cant pay their taxes.

I wont point, They know who they are

Went to a Red Lobster last night, no fresh seafood, server said it was stuck somewhere out east. All these academic geniuses are illiterate about reality.

Also asked someone at a Whole Foods if things had changed since Amazon took over and they said nothing had changed. But maybe I looked like a secret shopper.

This Order to Shelf system was put in place before Amazon came along. It's just being implemented now. Honestly I won't be surprised when Amazon comes in, tears it all out, and implements their own inventory management system. I'd be incredibly shocked if Amazon wasn't substantially better at this than WF.
