10% covers the dispatching and office work. I rent a trailer from them and between rent, insurance, ELD it’s about $425 a week more.

10% is industry standard. Sometimes you can get it down to 5% if you lease on to a startup or something

I don’t condone what they are alleged to be doing but no way in hell would I lease on an owner op for 10%. Total waste of time.

Wow someone is actually saying this, thank you.

OK I get that, happened to me with one company, threaten to sue them for breach of contract based on FMCSA regulations, they caved when my lawyer said he would work for nothing to see them bleed money.

OK did you approach the powers within the company?

I was going to ask that.

Yes, it is illegal for a number of reasons, one is you have a contract with them that spells out the split of settlement you get and the other is the FMCSA requires them to send you on request the amount they actually get for the load.

I don't know, sometimes it is some idiot who thinks he is making more money for the company.

He can't be legally bound by a non-compete, he is a contractor, he isn't a employed salesman.

I did not see anything about a non compete in my paperwork.

Unfortunately, at this point in time I only have rock hard proof for this short run I did and $400.

I had an issue before as well but the broker wouldnt send me the RC so it was all verbal.

I did confront the “boss” who rather quickly got aggressive about it - bad sign right there.

I am a little puzzled here, where would I turn to for help on this, it’s not about the money but about sheer unfair conduct. I hate seeing conman going unpunished or at the very least unchecked for their actions?

Who can I turn to? FMCSA? OOIDA?

    Intothesunset Thanks this.

You would more than likely have to hire a lawyer, and unless he can get records showing that they have been skimming all along and at a substantial amount is involved, it would probably cost you money out of your pocket. sucks though.
