hey everyone need a lil advice

Good luck. Things have changed a lot since my dad first got into the industry. There were no driving schools or even CDLs back then from what I understand. He learned from working with his dad and just doing it. I'm not necessarily saying that's the better way, just different.

I tried doing a search but I didn't see any that hit my particular situation so i need y'alls help. I'm getting my CDL "A" in the next week or so. I'm 21 1 ticket 2 years ago for doing 9 over in a 35 (had no idea it was a 35 plus it was 5 in the morning on my way to work so i just woke up. And missed the sighn) paid the ticket and had the points removed. I've always loved the trucking industry especially the thought of long haul. I'm single and love driving (put 40,000 miles on my super duty the first year i had it lol) I've put alot of thought in to it and I'm willing to go out for 5 or more months at a time. I do have some expierence from the construction industry (equipment operator last 5 years) I transport equipment for the company i work for on the back of a single axle gmc 7500 with air brakes around town on a double axle tag trailer with air brakes.( yes i know illegal on a reg licence but hey it pays) well heres my dillema my boss is wanting me to get my cdl and told me just to get it at the dmv with his truck and trailer so i said sure now I am in the process. I want to go over the road and my boss oks the decision if i really want to since its so slow (10-15 hours a week slow) my question to u guys is where can i go with lil expierence and no money for school. it doesnt matter to much as long as the trucks are stick shift and they can keep me pretty busy 6-700 a week is fine with me i dont need a lot aside from that. i'm a begginer and know it i just want a shot somewhere any input on where to start lookin would be great. Sorry to bore u guys with this long post but I need help Oh and before I forget I have places i can go to live in north western PA on the youngstown ohio line and a place in Ocala florida and where im at now on the northshore of MA thanx in advance guys ok u can rest ur eyes now lol

Can you handle being on the road for up to 15 days or more away from home?
Can you handle parking in some sleazy truck stop or can you handle parking in a remote spot where there is no cell service or another soul for miles around?

Trucking is not just about the truck and driving...there are logs and if you desire to become an O/O, there's more paper work than Carter has pills.

Going down the road you soon realize you have no rights and Mr. or Ms. Bear can pull your a-z-z over for "Driving on a sunny day".....

If you're up for it....it can be a rewarding life but like being a soldier, it's a hell of a commitment.
