Hey NFI I'm calling you out.... why all the secrecy?

Like many before, I have tried to gather information about NFI. There really does not seem to be much out there. Does NFI operate in the Bermuda Triangle? People before have inquired, only to suddenly fall off the map into nonexistence. Not much good info, not much bad info, heck not even any recent info. Either this company is the best kept secret in trucking, or it's so bad nobody will admit working there. Just searching TTR, there's 25 threads with 203,254 views going back at least 10 years.... that being said, people are interested.... but...... those 200k+ looks only generated 61 replies. What gives?? Why be so tight lipped? Even the White House has it's share of information breaches. So, give up some dirt, shed some light, fill us in, what's your story?

What's this Bermuda Triangle you speak of.
    NFI
    Slow trucks
    Average pay
    Mostly regional and dedicated.
There just blah, I worked there. It's the one job I always
    Seem to forget about

I have a couple of friends that work there on the Lowe's dedicated account, one on the Nestle Water account, and one on Trader Joe's. All report the same thing, about the same as the dedicated side of any other carrier, except they maintain their equipment better than most. As always, it is a crap shoot if your local management is going to be competent and easy to work with, they say corporate leaves them alone which is better than most. As reported above, average pay, average benefits, most of their accounts are home every day, many with at least one weekend day off (typical schedule is Sun-Thur or Mon thru Fri). Knowing what my friends are like, and how they fit in there, if I had to go back to that type of employment NFI is a company I would look at.

A comprehensively prepared response. Much appreciated. I only find it curious that through all the prior threads for NFI, there were really no replies that seemed to shed any light. I've watched NFI's website as well as job sites like Craigslist/Indeed, etc since the Trader Joe's Distribution in Florida was built and can't imagine the work conditions as the openings never seem to come off the board.

It is like any other trucking job, the core people stick around but everyone else hops over to the next place the first time they don't get the route they want or when the seasonal downturn hits. The dedicated accounts usually have a bit more driver retention, but not much, I wholeheartedly believe it is in the nature of a truck driver to be a job hopper, after all we embrace a nomadic lifestyle!

As for Trader Joe's, my buddies don't particularly like that account, although they are working out of NE PA, so they go into NYC often, some retail deliveries are better than others. Stay away from the grocery store accounts, in general they are the most difficult of the dedicated type accounts. If you can get on the Lowe's or Home Depot accounts, they are easy peasy, drop/hook, loose appointment times, really good working conditions.

You say nomadic, I'd say unreliable and eventually unemployable (if that's a word), by any decent company. Talked to a guy recently that worked for 8 different companies in the past four years. Somehow he was surprised he couldn't get a job.

NFI runs dedicated for BIMBO bakeries around here. They share a warehouse with us. Equipment looks decent.
