Fortunately, Day 2 of orientation went much better. The things on the truck that could be corrected in the short window were. So they responded well to my concerns. I got to speak on speaker for a couple minutes with my dispatcher which is out of Akron, Iowa. That went ok. Got my 1st load. Picking up off the Zephyrhills yard in the morning after I get there and setup the truck. Delivers in LaPorte, Tx Monday morning. Approx 950 miles. The other 2 drivers in orientation got loads as well. The lady driver is a rehire and she got a load headed to Joliet, Il. And the other male driver with just 6 months exp. is taking a load destined for Auburn, Wa. He's in a sold truck that needs to get up to the Akron, Ia terminal so that's probably all he'll take it. He's never been west of I-35 in his life so he's probably not ready to take that on over to Auburn this time of year. That's it for now. I'll try to check in again tomorrow night.

I am almost certain that fellow will transfer the load in Iowa. I believe 6 months experience is their minimum in Florida. They do have trainers so I'm guessing somewhere in their hiring zone they take student graduates.

I hear you. Anytime they give me a different truck, I say " I need a new mattress. "

This truck was primarily on Heyl's Florida Tropicana instate fleet. White truck. Not the typical black OTR trucks you usually see. I'm sure that is why relatively low miles for a 2009.
