expecting more than 200 to 300 miles a day as a local driver? you really did not investigate and educate yourself before jumping in.
You also stated, that on your last day of work for the week, you demanded only one load, as you just did not want to work anymore, therefore cutting your pay.
I stated that you had never said how many hours they were working, and you have never said how much they make.
Oh I have a clue, you accepted the pay, before you went to work, with your own expectations of what your weekly pay would be, without actually finding out what local work was like. And now you are envious of the drivers that get paid differently than you, and demanding that you be paid the same as them, after only one week....
you said, "Trucking is a one size fits all carreer so I thought." again, shows you did not do your research... Trucking is a diverse industry.
You asked for our take on it, and since I and others disagree with you, you say we have no clue.
So within a week, you have demanded a change in your pay, refused to work a full day, and did NOT work your full 70 hours available....
The dispatcher will be relieved when the door closes on you.

I would not be happy with that either ...Patty
im sure they probably acted like you could get in 3 turns a day ... Not sure if the 100 miles air radius has been asked ... How far out is the longest delivery?
TLea...your being kinda heartless ! But yeah they prob like using drivers per mile ...sitting wasting time for free in the docks ... Might need to go back OTR or look for another regional /local job
good luck Monday.... -

I never said how much they make because no one has asked me till now, they are making $12.50 an hr.If I knew of any other local Heyl drivers then yes I would have asked them questionsWhats this demand jazz you keep throwing at me,I have never demanded anything.I simply talked to my dispatcher about it and will be talking to Mr Heyl Monday if hes at the terminal. So quit saying I demanded,I didn't demand anything and never will.I see from your post you suck everything up and will not talk to somebody about issues. You don't like something, not a problem ill just keep quiet no matter what.Thats the problem with this industry, drivers complain bout it to other drivers but yet wont talk to the source at the company.Me on the other hand will be talking to the source.Does not hurt to try.By the way I did state how many hrs one of the local drivers are working that gets paid hourly. So rather then skimming thru all my posts why don't you actually syart reading every word of it so I don't have to keep repeating myself over and over and over. One more thing, you have told me a few times I didn't do my homework, somethings in this industry u don't think of asking and don't find out everything till you're working. How the heck did I know certain drivers made an hourly wage and the new ones get paid by the mile.Speaking of which, what do u think about not getting paid DH miles?

Parked at the rest area on I-64 east of St. Louis. Got 624.5 running 60-62 today. I'm torn between "As the Wheels Turn" and "As the Wheel Turns". Hoping tornado alley doesn't get too intense tomorrow.
