Nah, not real sure on rates/hourly hire, no one likes talking about that stuff to much from what I can gather, especially in Aus. Just add up all your Rego/Ins, how much the truck cost, fuel costs and the like and add x% on for profit, that should give you an approx cost of what you can do it for, but you most probably know all that already.

 

well if the waters have receded, it should be a few weeks and it will be firming up again..

Where abouts are you looking and what sort of work are you looking to do? Dan, I`m half way up the Qld coast.

 

i have a line on b double work to the mines and oil areas.. but its all on hold until things settle down.

i wouldnt normally touch things like that but the money is good.

 

Ok, Oil work is more west of Brissy than up here, but there is supposed to be more mines opening up up here and down into the Surat Basin over the next few yrs, also out west into the Gallilee Basin too so should be plenty of work coming up for a few yrs to come. Might be a good time to OWN your own truck now and pick your jobs to suit you, instead of working when the MAN tells you to work.

i own my own truck, no matter how far along you go, somone is always your 'boss'.. i just get to choose who is mine.

just be sure on the quality of the parts, its more expensive to do things twice, than correctly the first time.
