    Hi all,
I'm new to this site, though I've read quite a bit here and on other sites since I started trucking in 2009. I joined because I'm interested in driving jobs in the oil fields - and or tanker jobs. I began working for a large nationwide company in 2009, was company driver for about a year, then went Hazmat team, I've been an owner-op for over 3 years now and I've been training (including hazmat) for nearly 3 years. I'm going to do some research on what opportunities might be out there for me. I have had no accidents/crashes or tickets for over 3 1/2 years. Wondering what opportunities might be available in Texas or North Dakota. Happy and safe driving to everyone!

Hi, You started in 09? Been driving 5 years. Please understand were pretty smart. If your a recruiter, or some safety guy, just say so. Most of us don't bite.

I don't understand your post? Why would I be a recruiter or a safety guy? I have done exactly what I said (and more) and that does not count other heavy equipment jobs I've had (cat, backhoe, dumptruck, front loader and farm tractor - PLUS - a year as Zamboni driver). I've driven in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and in 2013. I am a driver, looking into upgrading in my career, having heard about a need for drivers in the oilfields. I Don't understand your post at all.

HA! Thanks. Though I am safe, I'm not a safety guy or a recruiter....
I'm honestly just trying to do some research. Several things that would make it difficult to move to a different company instantly would be that I have a good relationship with the company I'm with, I am an owner op and would need to transfer my lease (giving up what I've put into the truck) or have one of my students take over the lease - or - refinance and pay off the truck now. Plus, I would definitely want to give notice and finish up the student I have even if I found a great gig elsewhere. I would definitely want to change jobs on an honorable note as these guys have been very good to me for being such a big company.
I appreciate any info people share with me.
