I started driving about 3 years ago. I’ve worked in dump trucks through out the seasons (April-November). And well... I didn’t make a lot of money doing it. I tried moving to commodities where they are more consistant to working through out the entire year. But they pay low and are exempt from paying over time and abuse the hell out of that. I stopped working for them. So I have around 2-2.5 years of actual driving experience. I only am willing to do local. And I just really don’t see a bright future for my self in this industry. Feeling down about the decision I’ve made to be a trucker. I was enthusiastic believing it was a good career choice. To all of my older friends out there with experience, lift me up if you can with some wisdom because I’m unable to see the fruits of this industry.

I got a bad lower back I can’t do touch. As a Muslim I refuse to touch alcohol products or pork because I don’t take part in serving something I stay away from personally.

I live in the central valley Modesto,CA.

Thank you for your time you took to read all of this :)

you can try roll off, front end trash pick up, rear trash pick up, or transfer station transport, in just about any garbage hauling company.

the work is steady, pays well and some are union, and nearly all have a benefits plan, and usually weekends off, as well as holidays.

1st, there's no need to qualify yourself by saying your nationality. Trucking, or life, really, today knows no boundries in that regard. You seem to have plenty of experience, I'd check a line haul, grocery warehouse, or tanker, something where you don't use your back. While you can limit it somewhat, as far as what you haul, in trucking, you just never know when you might haul a pallet of pig guts packed in alcohol,,,,Good luck, I say, hang in there, the time is never better for an experienced driver.

Co2 delivery. Try that if you are in a major city.

Trash hauling is a good field. Grocery delivery can be no touch. Equipment delivery is also local/statewide, but can get pretty physical.

Consider reality and rethink your decision to be a Muslim. Religions just keep you constricted and confined. 90% of the world eats pork and close to that partake of alcohol. You think Muslims have some secret they know that others don't? Just made up stuff by people 2000 years ago. Live in the present, not the past.
