I currently work at a great company for last six months as a 50% local class B freight driver :Taxi-lorry:50% warehouse worker. I am currently in school to upgrade my license to a class A and i'll soon be looking(mid December 2014) for a one day a week class A job. 100 air miles out of Albuquerque would be nice but not necessary. looking for seasonal or long term any ideas? All ideas are good ideas :biggrin_255:

Intermodal/drayage companies may have something like that.

    Poppa Johns.

In all seriousness though. If you are working another job and putting in enough hours to be out of hours on the day you work your side job you are opening yourself up to all kinds of liability and jail time if you wreck it. Just sayin.

How can you tell from that post, and there are a bunch of ways to be out of hours and not be over on your 70.

You're assuming that he's even on logs. Logs aren't required if you stay within 100 air mile radius of home base.

You aren't legally allowed to exceed normal DOT HOS just because you're not required to be on logs. Your time needs to be accounted for or you don't qualify.

If you have 2 jobs, you are required to be on logs regardless of staying inside a 100 mile radius

All hours worked, including hours worked at warehouse or yes, even papa johns count. If you are paid for those hours, they count against your 70 and must be logged as on duty.

...and remember, if you get a ticket in either one, you need to report it to both, and if you dont tell them about a second job, that might be a good conversation.

Thanks everyone for your advice and your concerns. I looked at my restart hours of service 34 hour restart requirements and 11hour driving& 14 hour duty/driving rules. With my current 40hrs a week I still have 19 hours of drive time each 7 days with my current work schedule and in compliance with the 60hours /7day rule. I now know I have 9hrs on saturdays and 10hrs on mondays so I have decided to just work 10 hrs on mondays .

Any more ideas one day a week(mondays) for class A driving out of albuquerque anyone??? Still looking for more ideas:biggrin_25520:
