First of all, I'm new. I was taught properly.
When you're coming onto an entrance ramp, I'll move to the left lane to let you on.
THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE GOING TO RACE ME UP THE HILL FOR THE NEXT 15 MINUTES SO I CAN'T GET BACK OVER AND TRAFFIC PILES UP BEHIND ME.
I'm new, and yeah, I probably got suckered into a trucking company that isn't THE MOST AWESOME COMPANY EVER THAT YOU'VE BEEN DRIVING WITH. THANKS FOR REMINDING ME AT EVERY TRUCK STOP, THOUGH.
You see those flashing lights up ahead? You see that cop pulling over some poor speeder? BACK OFF AND LET ME AROUND. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?
I'm governed, same as you. STOP TRYING TO PASS ME EVERY TIME WE'RE GOING DOWN THE SLIGHTEST INCLINE.
Yes, I know I'm new, and it takes me forever to back my truck up. THANKS FOR REMINDING ME ON THE CB RADIO.
Seriously, y'all need to learn some manners. Didn't your mamma's raise you any better?

You don't know the "old drivers" exact situation; don't be so impatient. Maybe you should let off the gas pedal and back off instead of expecting everyone else to cater to you; on payday you're check won't be affected.

No, they didn't. And the majority of behaviors you're taking issue with have nothing to do with experience, and everything to do with stupidity. The ones with experience and a decent attitude rarely if ever get into any of this nonsense. Well, perhaps some may snipe at the carrier, but it's more a reflection on that carrier, and most of us have enough tact to keep it in.
The drivers you are describing are simply idiots, take them as they come and don't let it get to you.TruckDuo, The Admiral, Puppage and 14 others Thank this. -
Before you even turn on the ramp look and see if there is a mob coming. An experienced driver will adjust his approach from that moment on. Don't be one of these drivers that doesn't even look in the mirror until the last second. Use every resource you have.
Second you don't know how well you were taught until you get experience and look back.
Trucks perform differently on hills depending on their setup and weight. If you're heavy or don't see the trucking losing speed you shouldn't even be attempting to pass. Know your truck and those around you.
Manners are nice but not everyone had the same up bringing as you. You will meet about anything and everything possible on the road. It's best to be understanding and become cultured because the whole country has a different way than where you are from. Enjoy who you meet even if they are different from you. Most of all don't let the little stuff bug you. If you get in a situation you absolutely hate then get off an exit ramp and come down the other side or stop and take a break.chopper103in, davetiow, Oversizeload and 8 others Thank this. -
Look somebody is having a case of the Mondays.
Relax "Francis," stop being poor sport, just enjoy being a Rookie. I do.rockee, Joetro, blairandgretchen and 2 others Thank this. -
Hey JPenn, you nailed it just rite. And Michael Zen Ferret. Ten yrs from now if your still driving. Remember what happened to you. And be better to the new drivers than these drivers are to you. As long as your getting a paycheck and the company treats you decent, that's all that matters. We all went through it. Don't give up on your driving just yet. Stay safe and stay with the good driving maners.
