How do you know that every driver that hurts your feelings is an old timer? Being an old timer has nothing to do with driving years/experience.

It's OK Dude. We all have them days. I agree with what everyone has said about it. Thing is you gotta get some Zen about it or you'll burn out big time before you even get your first 100K in the rear view. Can't appreciate the really awesome cool stuff without having to deal with the crap. If it was all gravy days it wouldn't be called earth. It'd be called something else. Yin and Yang while we're here, though. It's how we tell the one from the other. Good can't exist without evil as a contrast, day not without night - the list goes on. If The one didn't have the other as a contrast there'd be not the one as positive because it would be a constant and thus negated by stasis. Your favorite food will get old and boring and eventually tasteless if it's the only thing you ever eat. I'm sure you catch my drift.

Check your sleep gauge too. Might be low on quality sleep. I know I get cranky and angry at the least little things when I'm low on quality down time. Not just down time QUALITY down time. Daytime sleep don't cut it for me. I feel OK to drive physically and alert-wise, but kinda gritty and grainy like sand is in your boots and underwear that you just can't stop and shake out right now; and in an ill mood and I gotta check myself when someone does what they do and say to myself:

"Dude. Chill. Same fool does the same things all day every day. You're just sleep cranky. Just focus on getting this trip done and get some solid Z's. It'll be alright tomorrow after the sleep bank gets a good deposit. Always is." I don't have any idea if that's your situation, I'm just throwing it out there for sharing sake. OH, and BTW . . .

Never EVER under ANY circumstances hit the yes button to send the message you've freeformed about why whatever is what it is when you feel grainy or gritty or whatever because you're sleep cycle is kinda outta whack. No matter how bad you want to. Um, yeah, no. Don't send that one. Hit NO and rethink the thing after some good sleep. Yeah, just fill in the required fields on the macros and go to bed.Unless you just like the $#!+ loads. If so, then send away. Not that I ever did that or anything . . . just speculation . . . and what I've heard . . . Um, Yeah I'll go with that.

Good luck Dude and be Safe. It really does get better with time. Hollow consolation I know, but it's true and all I got.

I get your your frustration.. we all go through it.. and especially us rookies.. when cars and trucks are cutting in to our safe space... we tense up and aim our frustration outward..

Dont let yourself get a chip on your shoulder.. especially towards old timersor experienced drivers.. cause when you get out of a trainers truck and in your own.. that is when learning really begins...

Also, you may and more than likely will need their assistance... and sometimes in ways you never knew possible.

Just about an hour ago, I rolling along I 29.. it is rainy, and there were a couple gust of wind that really pushed me with my empty trailers.. pulled into arest area.. totally full.. even the places to make a space were taken... roled back out..

Big gust of wind hit me.. and. I was really wondering how I would make it to the next rest area.. smoe more wind rocks me... then I hear over the cb... how bout it northbound werner.. looks. Like the wind is pucking on you

My first thought.. great, and now some jerk wants to dog me cause I drive for werner... almost just shut the cb off.. but instead keyed up and said... yeah it is having fun with my empty trailer... hope the next rest area has some room...

He came back with.. well if you can keep it between the lines and want some cover.. I am heavey.. I can roll long side of ya.. that will block those pesky gust.. and there is a truck stop at exit 35.. bout 10 and a couple miles.. there will be plenty of room for ya there..

Andso he did.. we rolled along side eachother till I got off at exit. 35 offered to buy him coffee or dinner.. he said he needed to just roll ... so I thanked him..

Now that was an awesome thing he did.. he could of just flew by me and let me fight with the wind.. I didnt even know another truck could block wind like that..

So, now here I am parked safely.. at a truck stop I never knew existed ...

Hey newbie, if you cant pass another truck while you are in the hammer lane, that is when you slow down and get behind them. Turn off your CB while backing up if it bothers you. If you are already complaining you will quit trucking after a year.

I rarely have to move to the left for a Truck. They usually know what's going on before they see me. Besides I learned a long time ago about the right of way in that situation. And the only thing that dictates that I should move to the left for oncoming vehicles is "common courtesy." Which is another learning lesson.

That is what I was thinking. The yield sign is on the ramp, not the freeway. Hell I adjust my speed to hit the open spot on the freeway so I don't have this kind of contention.

never thought to much about getting on the freeway except watch the right lane of traffic so i could adjust my speed to get on to the big road. lucky for that driver he is driving now and not 40 years ago,his post would have been three pages longer. just because you are driving a big truck and your boss said you had to deliver asap does not mean everyone should get out of your way. you need to calm down a little if you are going to stay in trucking.
