So had an oil sample done on this D13 at 13000 miles. Copper content of 2900. Reported extremely high. Had another done 6000 miles later and a reading of the same, 2900 - 3000 Contacted Volvo and was told that it's not uncommon as the oil cooler is leeching into the oil as the tubes aren't polished and it should dissipate. Run another cycle and sample again and if still high will change out oil cooler. Any one else experienced this? Volvo assures me that it is not a bearing, cam or main as this to them is not uncommon. Thoughts?

I think diesel bearings use babbitt metal compositions? They ain't like car bearings that have a high copper content. You would see higher than normal tin content if they were giving you a problem.

I'd say Volvo is correct and changing out the oil cooler will just put you back at square one. It's gonna take a good 50K before that motor starts settling in and metal wear starts dropping.

Just keep changing that oil like you are doing until she breaks in.
