2023 volvo vnl860 i just bought is making a high pitched noise when gas pedal is pressed all the way and the boost is ~25psi. It doesn't start whinig right away though and doesn't whine when i'm bobtail. I think it might be one of the belts but i'm worried it might be the turbo. Did anyone have similiar issues or know what this is?

I know nothing of Volvos, but that could be normal turbo noise, or a leak in your charge air cooling system.

I drove a 2016 volvo last year and it didn't make that noise, I didn't think of the cooling system, I'll give that a check for leaks or cracks

When that truck is cold and you fire it up, take advantage of the boost it makes when it warms up. Spray down all rubber/silicone boots, and joints. I'll bet it's a tiny crack in the o ring between the charge air pipe and the air to air on the turbo side. I have changed out probably 10 of those over the years on my vulva.

To verify, @Oxbow is referring to boost hoses , clamps, cac, intake, etc, leaking turbo boost pressure. Not cooling system as in radiator.

Boost leak. Get a spray bottle with water and a little dish soap. Spray everything and look for bubbles. Also, look over the boost system for black residue. That'll point you to a crack/leak as well.

These men are on the right track…

Most likely this is where you will find your mystery noise. If it’s doing it only when you reach 25 psi boost it’s no belt squealing…..
