One of my drivers has a high pitched whine from his turbo. It’s a 2016 peterbilt 579. Any chances it’s not the turbo that’s shot? I’m getting to the truck tomorrow to inspect it and see. Any help what to look at first? I wouldn’t think a gasket worn out would make that noise

A whine or a louder noise. I had a truck that had the one box on the def system acting up and it made a horrific noise that sounded more like a grind than a whine but it was rather high pitched

Start with checking the charge air cooler boots.

Engine?
I would suspect an exhaust leak. It will likely change pitch or vary with load or boost. Inspect for soot trails from the manifold to head gaskets. Cummins will most commonly be #2 or #5.
