Hello .
i just remembered that i had a speeding ticket back in march or april 2009..it was a 38 miles over the speed limit .would that affect my application to one of the companies that offer CDL ?
knowing that the fine was $500 ..i had to go to the court,i admitted guilty ..fine got dropped to $390..then i had to take 8 hours school.
so the point is I made a mistake ..paid for it ....I have been driving safe since then ..but the it is still within my driving history and it may show ...
Don`t you think so?
high Speeding ticket might be an obstacle

Yup, I think so. Have you already applied to companies without mentioning this transgression?
warrior81 Thanks this. -
Get a printout and send it to a recruiter and see.

only way to know for sure is to apply. but yes, many companies wont touch you if its less than (5?) years old, since it is at least 15 mph over posted speed, it is considered to be reckless driving by many. you may find one to take you...start applying and find out. worst that can happen is you wont find one, and they may tell you how old it must be for them to reconsider.

oh, but get a printout of your mvr before you start applying WITHOUT telling them about it. if its on your mvr, theyll see it, and getting caught in a lie may burn that bridge forever.

thank you guys .well i just called recruiting at prime ..didn`t mention my name or anything.the lady said yes it may affect my application ..but said to apply and they will see what they can do ..but i doubt it ..
the thing is i know it is over 4 years now ..so i dunno why it should affect in anyways .ffffffff -
In at least some states (California for one), a traffic violation will only appear for 3 years. Sometimes you will have to request a purge (in CA "request for amendment") if the violation still appears on your 10-year MVR. Most companies will only ask about accidents/violations going back 3 years (aside from DUI)

"When you check your license by entering the number above, if it shows "VALID" it simply indicates that the department has already received information and cleared your record. You may disregard any notice you received and print the response as your latest official receipt from this agency."
