Ours are as part of the arctic kit. Works well keeping the engine warm in winter.

    Samuelh and Hegemeister Thank this.

Any truck can have better insulation. Just depends on how much your company wanted to spend spec'ing it out.

I don't know about that. We had some at Titan that sucked. Had an electric APU but blanking ton the name. Out of business now anyways.

I added insulation under the bunk and floor mat and it would almost keep up on a 10 hour break in Calexico.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

I have the TK Evolution and chose to tie it in to the truck coolant. I’ve had a few days in FL, GA, MS, and AR already that have been in the upper 90s and really humid. I put my sun shades up I bought, shut the sleeper curtains, and it stays ice cold back there. My truck does have the extra insulation package. Unless you’ve got an APU putting out 21k BTUs or greater, it’s not going to cool the whole truck. They are designed to cool the sleeper.
The TK Evolution and, just recently, the Carrier Comfort Pro put out 13k BTU cooling.

My Dynasys is 12k BTU. What was TK at before they bumped up to 13?

I know Dynasys is now making them with Kubota motors versus the CAT like I have in mine. Supposed to be a big gain in power from 8 on the CAT to about 14hp on the Kubotas.
