I was going to switch from dial up to high speed last weekend as I found a place that services my area, UNTIL they told me the final price was 60.00 a MONTH and I had to sign a TWO YEAR contract! NO NO and NO! I will stick with my dial up and 20.00 a month for as long as I can......I just cant see spending that kind of money for internet service....

For your home? There's no way it should be that expensive.I'm paying that much for a Sprint aircard. I'm paying $100 a month for cable TV at the house with virtually every channel you can imagine and it comes with internet bundled in.

    Try this company: Google dslextreme
They start at $12.95 a month for DSL.

I pay that much for for my air card in the truck. But for home it wouldn't bother me in the least to pay $50.00-60.00 for internet. Reason being is nowadays you can do so much more with cable then you can with dial-up. Faster downloads everything.

Most cable suplliers have cable tv , phone , and DSL for $99 a month . AT&T offers DSL , phone , and DirectTV for that price .

When you live off of the beaten path, you are left with few options. The price of satellite internet has come down, but it is still pricey. I was happy to dump my dial up, and the phone line, and get an air card. Figured I came out about equal, but with fast internet.

After many years of dial up agony. I broke down and got the roadrunner turbo package with full HD digital cable/HBO/Cinemax for $99 a month plus taxes, which comes out to about $110. I had to do a year contract to keep that price and after the year is up, I can renew it for the same price without them raising the fees. It hurts to pay the bill every month but I'm spoiled with the fast internet. :smt024

Yikes, I keep seeing NetZero Commericals about how much cheaper & it seems just as fast Dial-up is.

I know at home I used Verizon DSL and it was $30 a month. It works fine most of the time unless they had a server problem (2-3 hours a month due to upgrading). I can't imagine paying more than that and I was running at about 5Mb where I was paying for the 3Mb service. I really had no problems with them other than frkn hard to understand tech support.
