Well I went through Tehachapi wb around 2pm. Wide open. Road was completely clear. Hardly any snow on the downhill side. Lots of traffic eb all the way back to Bakersfield.Dave_in_AZ and ducnut Thank this.

When I moved from Oakland back to LA in 1999, I-5 and 58 were both covered in a solid sheet of ice and I-5 was shut down but 58 was barely open so I didn't have any choice but to take 58 over to 14 to get through Palmdale down to LA.The Railsplitter Thanks this.

Ah, yes, I've run that route on more than one occasion... even CA-14 has some nasty curves in those canyons as a driver gets closer to L.A. Nasty in bad weather, I mean... no big deal in fair weather.
