    Well I went through Tehachapi wb around 2pm. Wide open. Road was completely clear. Hardly any snow on the downhill side. Lots of traffic eb all the way back to Bakersfield.

    When I moved from Oakland back to LA in 1999, I-5 and 58 were both covered in a solid sheet of ice and I-5 was shut down but 58 was barely open so I didn't have any choice but to take 58 over to 14 to get through Palmdale down to LA.

    Ah, yes, I've run that route on more than one occasion... even CA-14 has some nasty curves in those canyons as a driver gets closer to L.A. Nasty in bad weather, I mean... no big deal in fair weather. :rolleyes:
