I just watched a story on a Philadelphia news channel, about the storm that hit the NE yeasterday. I78, west of Allentown PA, was hit with 6in. of snow, followed by 1 to 2 in. of ice. Apparently, the storm "somehow" got ahead of the road crews, and a good portion of I78 was left untreated. This created a 50 mile backup, west bound. People were stranded in their cars and trucks for up to 18 hours last night...temps were in the low teens with wind chills below zero.
They interviewed a few people this morning at a diner, and everyone said that they don't know what they would had done, had it not been for the truckers helping them. People were running out of gas trying to stay warm, and the truck drivers allowed people to stay in their trucks. They also provided some food and water for people who needed it![]()
So if any driver on this board was there, your kindness and genorosity did not go unnoticed...atleast by the people you helped and the media. Stand tall and hold your heads high, for you are truly heroes of the highway, and I can't wait to join you. Drive safe...Dave
