Enough said Ms. Linda! His "experience at orientation" reminds me of interviewing witnesses after an accident or robbery, and obtaining as many different stories as witnesses

Well Jim hows your washer and dryer doing? Been here at HB almost a year now. And I want to Thank you, for being honest about them. I am very Happy with HB. Haven't seen you lately. So I thought I would drop u a thank you here.
-
Did I read you correctly; the company Volvos have APUs, refrigerators and inversters?
-
Note that there are other trucks in the mix as well... some old T600's (2006-2007 vintage I think) which mostly do not have APUs and dont have fridges at all I think. There are also something like 30 or 40 new ProStars that I believe have all 3, though the fridge is much smaller than the Volvo and they are single bunk.
If you don't like the truck you are originally assigned you can ask the shop in Omaha for a switch whenever you get through there. I did this when I was new, switching from a T600 to a Volvo 780 for about a month before I began my lease.
Good luck,
Jim -
Glad to hear you're still with the company and everything is satisfactory. Definitely looking forward to a Red Lobster run if we ever get through Omaha at the same time (or KC even, I keep my car there now).

Hey Jim,
Thanks for the info. I have already put my application in and given Paula all my paperwork. Looks good so far. Not many companies offer this level of commitment to driver comfort. I hope I make it through orientation ok. Again many thanks. Merry Christmas!

Tell Paula and Erin (and the other ladies in Recruiting) "Hi" for me... just say Jim from OTRjournal and they'll know who you mean.
Good luck,

They only hire drivers with 1-2 years of verifiable experience and there are no trainers. It was 2 years when I started, I think (but not sure) that in some areas they will hire with 1 now though you should call Erin or Paula in recruiting to find out specifics.
I live in an area (Missouri) where I can run 11 out and 3 at the house. We have a drop yard in Dallas (Garland) and have decent freight running through there so I doubt you would have trouble getting home when you needed it. In the nearly three years I've been with HB, they haven't got me home on the day (day!) I asked only four or five times. With the Dallas location I can't imagine it would be much different for you.
Good luck,
Jim -
Thanks again,
John
