You'll get better answers & help if we know your zip code.....
-- Lfiremedic2816 Thanks this. -
thanks for the response. I haven’t started anything yet but I am looking at a local private class. Unsure of the hours but I’ve actually already gotten my CLP and need the ELDT to get the license. I have no felonies, same employer for the past 8-9+ years, no traffic incidents, nothing. I’m ready to take the next step but was afraid to get the license if the chance of being hired with no experience is zero to none. I plan to get all or most endorsements before even getting hired anywhere also. I look on some sites but I may be in the wrong places searching for those employers

70357 will be the zip code. I’m right by port Fourchon but I am not set on working oilfield work as I’m unlikely to be hired without experience (assuming). I’m willing to branch out a bit if there are options
-
I'd wait and see how things play out in the 1st or 2nd quarter. Then jump in

Using your given zip code -- Schneider offers the following jobs (as of the time of this writing):
Regional Van Truckload truck driver | Top drivers earn up to $80,000 | Schneider
and/or
Over-the-Road (OTR) Tanker truck driver | Top drivers earn up to $81,250 | Schneider
BOTH of the above jobs are available to brand new drivers (per the description in each).
Schneider will train you & get you ready for either.
I'm a Schneider veteran. Since I've talked to (& known) drivers in both divisions -- I suggest (of the two Schneider jobs listed above) you start out in the dry van option.
Many other "starter" carriers that normally take drivers with no previous experience now want at least 3 - 6 months previous experience, instead.
The above are 2 options that will take you totally green.
During your time at your CDL school of choice -- Schneider (& other carriers) will likely pay your class a visit.
They are there because they will be looking to hire out of your class.
Talk to them while they are there. Ask questions. Get a few business cards from them.
Later on -- you'll be glad you did...
-- Lfiremedic2816 and lucasgunzz Thank this. -
