Probably not. Just depends on how long ago it was and how severe Swift thinks it is. But generally misdemeanors aren't that huge of a deal. Felonies on the other hand, if less than 10 years old, cause a whole new problem.

Yup just confirming what HE said. Felonies depending on what they are can be the bane of any attempt at a new career in trucking.

generaly all felonies are looked at and how severe they were. The rule of thumb with MOST companies is 10+ years behind ya however some companies will want you to have been out of prison and parole +10 years..

Lucky for me on my felonies I served no time so for me its just a 1-3 year stint of probation which has been well over 10 years.

Some companies will hire people with felonies all the time, some none of the time and others will on and off depending on how flooded the market is with truckers.

At this point the market is pretty well flooded with us newbies!! and I love it!!

Generaly drugs, violence and kid crimes will SHlT List you from almost every trucking job out there... However I was told SOME companies will hire with murder felonies as long as it was 20+ years ago..

Some companies won't hire you with misdemeanors under 10 yrs old. Usually a case by case basis. Swift passed on me, not saying it was my misdemeanor which is 10 yrs old but more likely my ticket from last year.

It's all good though, I've got other options. :)

I had a misdemeanor from 2000 and PAM hired my back in 2007. I want to say misdemeanor is either 3 or 5 years and of course the severity of it. Just give them details if they require it. I did for mine and they OK'd it.

"GO TIGERS" I was one day away from gad. from C1 and PAM found where I left the an accident and would not take me. Long story BUT I should not have been charged with it. I truly thought my job was scure as long as I passed everything, it was not. So were you from "gjtrype"

I think Swift hires everybody! If you don't have a felony before you go there you will when you leave! (Sorry thought that was funny!) They put some stuff on my DAC that I had to get taken care of and I didn't even work there! Wasn't that nice of them!

Probably not.Just don't try to mislead them about it.They will find out about it and any other dirt you may have..

It might not be a bad idea to contact your recruiter, tell them the whole story and be prepared to fax over supporting documentation. Also, bring all the paperwork from that case, including anything that says you completed probation, paid fines etc..

Sounds like chickenstuff, but better safe than sorry..Good luck.

    djtrype Thanks this.
