My company has a bad rep like this company does but so far all the drivers I have spoke with and many are OTR have been there for 5 yrs or longer and not one had a bad thing to say sbout them.I'm kind of like the center of attention there because im the only female local driver and there's like 30 local drivers, lol. One guy said the 9 yrs hes been there i'm the first female driver, lol.

That is so awesome. I know, I miss being home every night cooking, cleaning, etc. I worked as a supervisor for a security company for over 5 years until I hurt my knee. Had surgery and the doctor did a real cut up job on my knee, so I had to give that career up. But I do wish you the best of luck in finding something in your line of work.

this Hirschbach as a company driver for two months last year.In that time
I earned $5600 of which this company cheated me out of over $500 which
doesnt include $132 i was required to waste on a TWIC card i have never
used or the $400 I spent traveling back and fourth to E.Dubuqe IA,I did
not mention any other company I only started this thread about Hirschbach
last september after i quit working for them to let other experienced drivers
know what a lousy company it was.I did not call "ALL OTHER TRUCK DRIVER
S "ignorant.I apoligize for calling you a shill for Hirschbach I hope it works
out for you.I still stand by everthing I have posted about Hirschbach and I
have seen a lot of other people posting here with similar opinions.I have been driving for "SHAFFER"since last year and I am very satisfied with the
pay, equipment and the way I am treated.I do admit the trucks should be
turned up to a higher speed but I can live with it.Good LUCK TO YOU....LovingMom and HeckIGot2Go! Thank this. -
I started driving for Hirschbach a little over a month ago, and so far, I am very happy. I am giving the L/O a try (mainly because of the incentives) and if it doesn't work out, then I will go company. My miles aren't the greatest, but they are improving.
One thing I really like is that I can call my FM, give him my name, and he knows exactly who I am. It is nice being treated like a person instead of a truck number.
I get reimbursed for all tolls and lumpers. I get detention pay without having to say one word.Jarhed1964 and Meltom Thank this. -
Hi Air Breeze, thank you, I do appreciate your apology. I do understand how you feel about a company not standing up to their promises in which they made to you. However, I do believe that there are so many companies out there that actually do that just to get you into orientation. I am very happy that you have found a good company that you believe in. I wish you the best in your endeavors.

I don't understand why so many drivers that lease a truck seem so happy that they are paid accessorial charges, detention, fuel offsets etc., those are not gifts from the carrier because they love you. The carriers are billing the shippers and if you are a real bona-fide lessor and not just renting a truck then you are entitled to those payments.
If the carrier is not passing that $ on to the truck then you are either being robbed, or you are just renting a truck. I know absolutely nothing about Hirshbach so this post is not a dig at them. -
When did they start allowing you to run toll roads? We always had to dodge them unless a rare no choice but to run one. Detention was always good. Sometimes you had to wait up to 3 weeks when they got paid and they passed it down.
One thing to watch is your per diem. They were claiming half my paycheck as per diem. Way too much! Then they don't put it on your W-2. -
