If you read through that link @Opus posted, that Swift case was overturned on appeal.

You must be a rookie. Hirschbach has had a horrible reputation for years.

You mean like you are doing? Just because he applied to another company does not mean he will not pay his obligation, or maybe he is near the end of his term and is planning ahead.

    Hammer166 Thanks this.

A different case. At least the one I read about there was never any mention about an anti-poaching agreement. It was about contract interference.

I always get a laugh from companies who whine about the cost of recruiting & driver training. These are the same outfits that pay piece rate wages & have a government exemption from normal labor standards. If you treated your drivers like real employees & not like seasonal farm workers, you wouldn't need to keep the revolving door spinning.
But I also believe in personal responsibility, but this is just vindictive behavior trying to prevent the driver from seeking employment elsewhere. If your owed money take the driver to court like they have to get their paychecks.

There's 2 Big companies in Sioux City, they both seem to have the same dime-a-dozen mentality about drivers.

I’ve often thought that if a CDL required like a 1 or 2 year college degree it would lead to much higher pay and better treatment. These companies know it’ll only take 3 weeks to get as much meat in the seat as they want.

I’m sure many here the 3 week/ or 8 weekends CDL school was good enough. But for this new generation I just don’t think it is.
