I’ve never seen a interstate curve posted at 70 with less than a truck lengths line of sight .. however if it was raining so hard that you could only see 1 or 2 truck lengths a smart person drives a speed that they can stop in that period of time ..

I'm surprised that trooper didn't try to cite you for being the cause of the world's economic problems.

You should breathe a little easier knowing that your company is going to bat for you. And what a joke that "following too closely" is. One does not follow something that is stopped.

You were on an Interstate highway and you hit a car that you somehow didn’t see until it was in your words, about a truck length ahead?

Definitely sounds like too fast for conditions .

You see how opinion is not favoring you even amongst fellow truckers? You really should stop talking..and you are going to need legal representation. If you are lucky and no lawsuit surfaces .. Stupid car has a year in which to decide whether to sue .. You will still want to defend your cdl by assuring least possible charge on that ticket.

Please stop talking about it here and everywhere. You were going too fast for conditions and you are digging in deeper and deeper.

I've been held up for hours on I-5 because one trucker struck another that just stopped in the slow lane instead of on the shoulder. It's inexcusable to stop on a freeway's travel lanes.

you admit you were going about 60, in the rain.

you hit a car stopped in the hammer lane, are trucks even allowed in THAT lane, in THAT state?

yes, just about anytime you rear end someone, YOU are at fault.

lawyer up, not only your company, but YOU will be sued.

next time, how's about going a tad slower in bad weather?

And just how will the attorney know how to present the case if his client won’t talk to him? Intermodal is taking its toll on you.

Yesterday while driving down 71 in AR, doing 55 in a 45 a man ran across the road and stopped right in the middle of my lane and was waving for me to hit him. Yes suicide by truck. I was able to stop in time. Fifteen miles down the road police passed me heading that way. On Monday I will call safety and see if they have it on tape and explain a hard brake. You always have to expect the unexpected.
