    I hope you find him and everything but. Couple of things here.

    Hazardous condition(rain).
    80mph.
    Trailer.

    So let's not point the "you were unsafe" finger when it goes both ways. Maybe you wouldn't have been on the roadside if you weren't running 80mph. Large vehicles cannot maintain high rates of travel speeds for extended periods of time. Especially since you were towing. What likely happened was a repeated process of constant foot glued to floor board sped up the wear and tear. Even more so with it being a tow vehicle.

    Now, bearing this is mind. Hope you learned your lesson and a couple more. Yes, the driver is in the wrong. But you put yourself there then come onto a forum of professionals(mostly) like you did nothing wrong.

    Wet road. Pulling trailer. 80mph. You could just have just as easily killed yourself or someone else just like the trucker doing that.
