I’ll never understand this! Driving around a big rig while so drunk you probably could barely stand up it’s just mind-boggling to me that people out there that stupid. I don’t have any sympathy for these people when they get caught. Throw the book at them as far as I’m concerned. It makes us all look bad too.

Dumb ### was totally asking for it. Especially hauling oversize load of roofing trusses.
Kind of misleading title by cdl life. Depending on state almost any traceable amount of alcohol roughly .02 or more is considered OTL and can be charged as DUI with a CDL

Safety regulation 49 C.F.R. § 392.5 prohibits a driver from having alcohol in his or her system while having “physical control” of a commercial motor vehicle, meaning you have immediate access to the keys and your truck is nearby.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration “guidance” on its own regulation pegs the maximum at 0.02%,

    It is.
Could a normal person drink half that amount and still function? Addiction is a messed up thing that can happen to anyone. A friend who barely touched alcohol and was a electrical apprentice hurt his shoulder and got hooked on pain pills. He OD leaving his new wife a window.

The addicts I've spoken with all except full responsibility for their actions while under the influence of whatever drugs/alcohol they were using. This guy is going to go to jail. He deserves to go to jail. This may actually save his life. He is just lucky he didn't kill someone.
