Hmmmmmm ----
Like father, like daughter? :smt102
Perhaps the daughter was DUI? :smt047
I wonder, ....... were there any witnesses that came forward?
It would be interesting to read their version of what transpired.
Maybe it was an intersection with a double lane left turn and when the Big truck proceeded to run the red left turn light from the outside left turn lane, the young lady driving the vehicle in the inside left turn lane assumed the light was green and proceeded to make her left turn also, --- thereby driving into the path of the left side trailer tandems as a stupid, bone-headed, Big truck truck driver jacks 'er hard while makin' a U-turn that shouldn't even be attempted in the first place?
If so, wouldn't the Last Clear Chance (to avoid a collision) rule come into the picture?
If, in fact, the left turn light was red when the Big truck truck driver made a Big mistake by running through it anyway, ..... perhaps thinkin' that the other motorists awaiting a green left turn signal light would remain stopped, thereby allowing him more needed wiggle room, knowin' there were vehicles in the inside left turn lane that would complicate his hair-brained U-Turn idea if he waited for the left turn signal to turn green and those in the inside left turn lane would cut him off on his left side as they proceeded to make their left turn?
Which was obviously wrong.
At least that Big truck truck sterrin' wheel turner didn't attempt a U-Turn from the INside left turn lane. Credit the dim-wit for that.
For what it's worth --- adjusted for inflation, of course.
On the flip side, ....... had the young lady remained stopped at the red left turn signal light, it's not as likely an impact would have occurred at all. Therefor, it would appear that the young lady had the last clear chance of avoiding an incident by simply obeying the law by remaining stopped.
Instead, she ran the red left turn signal light as well as the Big truck did, --- both at the same time, ...................
Thereby contributing to the cause and effect of the incident.
Might be one of those thangs where two wrongs don't make either of 'em right.
Ya reckon.
WoaH!
Hold on thar.
I jest had, ....................
............ An AfterShock AfterThought:
When drivin' any vehicle, but especially Big vehicles, there's an awesome responsibility that goes with that privilege. That bein', above all else,..... y'all's safety and the safety of those within y'all's vicinity as well.
Keepin' in mind that
Safety is NO Accident.
That right thar makes me wonder, ......:smt017
While driving any vehicle is there such thing as making a
little mistake?:smt017:smt102
And,.............. If so, .............
Is it possible for a little mistake to wind up bein' part of a big disaster? :smt017 :smt102
I know one thing for absolute SURE.
It wasn't me drivin' that Big truck.
....... :smt108:smt036 <----- (Actually, .... truth be knowed, .....
I pay those little dudes to laugh at some of my posts....
Makes me look better, I think, and hints at my mindset at the time, .....
So, ..... y'all ain't obligated in any way to do likewise,
I'm sure.)<------- For KentsMa. Is that your silence I hear?

Actually, NO my daughter did NOT lie about anything. What is so fishy about the story?? What reason would she have to lie about anything in the first place? She had just left work and was on her way home. It is the first accident she was ever in. She's a very safe driver and a very honest person. To insinuate she was lying wasn't right at all. -
Yes, my daughter is ok. She was quite shaken up, but not hurt. Thank you very much for your sympathy. I appreciate that! -
Yes, it was a terrible experience for her. She was never in an accident before. Thank you! -
I read the story you posted, but no, it's not the same story. She got hit on the passengers side. That one sounds terrible, too. -
Thanks...there were two lanes moving in the same direction (a turning lane and a straight lane). She was sitting at a red light in the left turning lane. Her light turned green and he came up through from the straight lane and turned left in front of her (she wasn't able to move)...he didn't make the turn wide enough and his trailer hit the front and passengers side of her car as he was turning. Does this help? -
08x or 0Bx...white plate...don't know what state -

ambivalence Thanks this.
