Thank you...she is alright. There were two lanes moving in the same direction (a turning lane and a straight lane). She was sitting at a red light in the left turning lane. Her light turned green and he came up through from the straight lane and turned left in front of her (she wasn't able to move)...he didn't make the turn wide enough and his trailer hit the front and passengers side of her car as he was turning. Does this help?

God I'm so tired of the querkiness of this site! Second time posting! WTF!
Hey, anytime you make contact with anything except the bottom of the wheels to the road, it's an accident! The 14 points! (Ask all of the Watkins Shepard goofballs what that is!) It doesn't matter who is at fault at this point, was the driver so unaware that he made contact and just kept going? Or maybe he knew and just ran for it! Gees! Give the O/P a break, you act as if a truck driver never had a chargable accident before!!!!

OK! The explanation we were waiting for!
    Chill Linda Lou!
We were having a problem with the first explanation of what happened!.
We KNOW it was an accident but we wanted facts.
OH Yeah this was a moron to make a turn and not watch his mirrors.
And yep he's thinking he's in his car, on sunday, out leaf looking!

If you find the truck, sue the crapola out of them and he'll never drive a truck again! He was in to much of a hurry and I'll bet you dimes to donuts he'll blame it on the 4 wheeler! In any case such as this where the truck is going to encroach on a lane the truck should back off or stop until the lane is clear. It's NOT the person in the left lanes responsibility to "let the truck go"! That's a Billy Big Rigger mentality! Reason being he's the one who is going to get the ticket, not the 4 wheeler!
If this driver was in his car and did the same thing well he still gets a ticket!
The rules don't change when it's a truck.
Besides what if the girl had been in a truck? Would it have been her fault then?
    AHHH....NOPE!
Good luck frdr. Sorry we just had a hard time on this and none of us even thought of 2 left turning lanes. Duh on us! BUT we did have fun working what we have between the ears!
Oh, I'd still like to see a picture of the car as if there is a tire mark on the front right fender this moron DID feel the hit!

    GuysLady and Everett Thank this.

As the story changes...the little things are "added"...my question is:

How do you rip off the front bumper, AND...smash the passenger headlight...then smash the front fender?

Rip off the front bumper...easily understood...the DOT bumper inside end caught the bumper and ripped it off...

But how in the same instance can you... smash... a headlight and fender?

To "rip off" is a forward movement, both vehicles going the same direction.

To "smash" is an opposite direction movement...a colliding of vehicles.

Now the actual question..How can you explain the differences in direction of travel in the incident described?:biggrin_2558:

there wasnt 2 left turning lanes--just the one the girl was in--sounds like the truck was turning left from the left straight thru lane--and cutting off the car--i read it a few times and thats the way it seems to me--
and dont really think smash is directional--if the icc catches the front pax side of the car--yes it will smash up the fender and light then rip the bumper off
