    Hmm... I smell a troll.

If you are using the tires at some point that day, absolutely.

At least one of the megas out there (I forget which one but does it really matter?) is using that scanner system, where they put bar codes on the different parts of the truck, and the driver scans each part as he “checks” them. I think there is a video on here somewhere of a driver just walking around his truck scanning stuff. Not actually touching a single part. Just walking around with his silly little scan tool and scanning away. Lol

Just wait, they will start doing this with tires too if they don’t already.

My Silverado sends me texts and emails when a tire goes down. I thought it was kind of silly until on my first day of work it notified me I had a flat. Onstad sent out a tech and he said I had a nail in left rear he repaired.

Kind of cool because when I got back to the yard I would have had to put the spare on, and then go get it repaired the next day. I see a day these trucks have TPMS and do something similar.

    baha Thanks this.

I like trailers with inflate systems. We are too cheap to use them.

Yeah but I get it. Schools can’t teach checking tires with a hammer. Lots of things change to one degree or another, book versus real world. So I can’t fault the premise of the post. And I don’t think anyone is saying we can throw away our tire gauges.

I might pull 3 trailers in one day. I am not checking tire pressure. I just make sure they are up.

What a waste. Punch them with your fist and build it in to a whoopin machine, don't waste it on a hammer.
